Atlanta Hawks defeated the Dallas Mavericks 135-120 on March 18, 2026, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The Hawks, playing their home games at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, extended a winning streak to 11 games with the victory.[1][2]
In the third quarter, with about five seconds remaining, Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga, 23, grabbed a rebound near his own basket, dribbled once, and threw a 75-foot pass intended for teammate Jock Landale under the Mavericks' basket. The pass went directly through the net for a three-pointer, measured as the sixth-longest made basket in NBA play-by-play era history (since 1997-98) and the longest by a Hawks player in that period, according to Elias Sports Bureau.[3]
The shot surpassed the previous Hawks mark of 63 feet set by guard Jason Terry on January 5, 2000, against the New York Knicks.[3][4]
Kuminga finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Teammate Dyson Daniels scored 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while Jalen Johnson added 17 points and 11 rebounds.[1]
The win improved Atlanta's record during the streak, positioning them as the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks' franchise-record winning streak is 19 games, set during the 2014-15 season.[2][5]
The Mavericks fell to 23-47, having lost 11 of their previous 13 games.[1]
American Airlines Center, home of the Mavericks since 2001, has a capacity of 18,032 for NBA games.[6]
